J.doe Terms of Service
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of myjdoe.com, the J.doe application, and our related AI services (together, the “Services”). The Services are operated by J.doe Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong, with its registered address at Room 704, 7/F., Tower A, New Mandarin Plaza, 14 Science Museum Road, TST East, Kowloon, Hong Kong (“J.doe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Contact us at support@myjdoe.com.
Please read these Terms before using the Services. When you accept them, they form an agreement between you and J.doe. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. At registration, one required checkbox records acceptance of these Terms, acknowledgment of the Privacy Policy, and the screen and recording authorization expressly described alongside it. This authorization does not replace operating-system permissions, the separate optional consent for stored speaker features, or any other consent required by applicable law.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority where you live. Provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, and tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, subject to applicable law.
If you use J.doe for an organization, you must have authority to do so and comply with its rules concerning confidential information and recordings.
3. Free beta access
J.doe is currently available as a free beta. Features may be incomplete, change during testing, or experience interruptions. Keep separate copies of information you need to retain.
We may adjust features or usage limits, or end the beta, for development, operational, security, or legal reasons. We will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially reduce your access, unless urgent action is necessary for security or legal compliance. Where lawful and practicable, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to retrieve your content before ending access.
If we introduce paid services, we will explain the price, billing, cancellation, and other applicable terms before you choose them. We will not automatically charge you or convert your free beta access into a paid subscription without your affirmative agreement.
4. Recording and screen context
The Services allow you to upload recordings, record through your device’s microphone, and provide screen context. Screen and recording authorization is obtained at registration as described in Section 1. Within that authorization's scope, no additional J.doe consent page is required on first use. Device permissions and your feature settings still control actual access, and you can turn either feature off in settings. Use these features only where you have the necessary rights and lawful authority.
You are responsible for providing any legally required notices and obtaining any required permissions or consents before recording, uploading, or sharing another person’s information. This includes consent required for matching a person’s voice across recordings or maintaining a persistent speaker profile. Your device permission or agreement to use J.doe does not itself constitute another person’s consent. J.doe remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law.
If you choose the separate speaker-recognition feature, it may store and use features of your voice and other speakers' voices from your recordings to recognize speakers across recordings. Its optional authorization includes your own consent and your confirmation that you have obtained any consent required from those other speakers.
Screen content can include other people’s messages, workplace information, passwords, payment details, or confidential material. Review the context you make available and avoid including information you are not authorized to disclose. Do not use J.doe for unlawful surveillance, stalking, or recording in circumstances where doing so violates privacy rights or applicable law.
5. Original Content and our limited permission
“Original Content” means text you enter, audio you upload or record, screen content you authorize us to access, and content obtained from accounts you authorize us to connect to. You retain any rights you hold in Original Content. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for the uses you request.
You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, process, and transmit Original Content solely as necessary to provide and protect the Services, including the safety and abuse-prevention processing described in the Privacy Policy. We may permit service providers acting on our behalf to perform those activities for the same purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership, authorize advertising uses, or authorize training AI models on Original Content.
You can initiate deletion of your user content, including Original Content, Outputs, and stored speaker features, using the available controls. The Privacy Policy explains default retention periods and exceptions for card evidence and items marked to keep, the scope and exclusions of deletion when turning off screen or recording access, the effect of turning off speaker recognition, account-deletion processing, limited administrative records, and backup expiry. Amazon Bedrock is configured for zero data retention for routine safety review, subject to the limited legal-reporting exceptions described in the Privacy Policy. Google may retain flagged prompts through Vertex AI for safety review for up to 90 days. After deletion from our service, any continuing permission to process retained copies is limited to the applicable deletion, recordkeeping, safety-review, or legal purposes and periods described in the Privacy Policy.
6. AI outputs
AI-generated responses and other results (“Outputs”) may contain mistakes, omissions, or fabricated information, even when they sound confident. Check Outputs before relying on them or sharing them, particularly when they concern another person or an important decision.
Outputs are informational and do not replace advice from a qualified medical, legal, financial, or other professional. Do not use the Services as an emergency response system or as the sole basis for decisions affecting someone’s health, safety, legal rights, or access to essential opportunities.
Outputs may not be unique and may be subject to third-party rights. You must respect applicable rights when using Outputs.
7. Permitted use
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the Services in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Violate applicable law or another person’s privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights.
- Use the Services to harass, exploit, impersonate, or defraud others.
- Introduce malicious software, disrupt the Services, or access accounts or systems without permission.
- Bypass access controls or usage limits, or extract other users’ information.
- Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Services except where we authorize it or applicable law permits it.
For features powered by Claude through Amazon Bedrock, you must also comply with Anthropic's Usage Policy, Supported Regions Policy, and Service Specific Terms, to the extent applicable to your use of those features. These requirements do not expand the data uses described in our Privacy Policy.
For features powered by Gemini through Google Cloud Vertex AI, you must also comply with Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy, to the extent applicable to your use of those features.
For features powered by Amazon Nova, you must also comply with the AWS Acceptable Use Policy and AWS Responsible AI Policy, to the extent applicable to your use of those features. For features powered by Cohere models through Amazon Bedrock, you must also comply with Cohere's Usage Policy, to the extent applicable to your use of those features. These requirements do not expand the data uses described in our Privacy Policy.
These restrictions do not prevent lawful security research, disclosures, or other activities protected by applicable law.
8. J.doe’s intellectual property
We and our licensors retain rights in the Services, software, branding, and related materials. Your rights in Original Content are addressed above. If you voluntarily send product suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve J.doe without compensation; this does not give us additional rights in Original Content or Outputs.
9. Connected accounts, delegated tasks, and service providers
Connected accounts. You choose whether to connect accounts such as Gmail, Slack, Outlook, Notion, or Lark. Your authorization allows us to read content within the access you grant and process it to provide the requested J.doe features. Authorization to read does not authorize us to send messages, delete content, or make other changes. Any such action requires a separate instruction or authorization. You must have authority to grant the access, including for workplace accounts and information concerning others.
Tasks delegated through your own tools. You may actively choose to delegate a task and related files to Claude Code or Codex installed on your device and signed into your own account. Those tools handle the delegated material under your agreement with Anthropic or OpenAI, rather than through J.doe’s account. Their processing may take place outside J.doe’s AWS environment. Review the relevant tool’s terms, privacy settings, and access permissions before delegating. Your authorization applies to the task and related material you choose to delegate.
Web access. Web search uses AWS AgentCore Web Search, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can turn it off in settings. J.doe's access to retrieve web pages on your behalf is read-only; it does not sign in to websites or submit forms. Information for website operators is available at our web-access page.
Services used to operate J.doe. We use AWS under our own account to store service content and process AI requests in the United States, Google Cloud Vertex AI under our own account for some AI processing in the United States, Supabase for account authentication, Google Workspace for verification-code emails, Google for Sign in with Google, Apple for Sign in with Apple and push notifications, and Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash and error diagnostics on iOS, as described in the Privacy Policy. Our public website is delivered through Amazon CloudFront's global network. Using a provider or transmitting material at your direction does not remove our responsibilities for J.doe’s own processing, disclosures, or compliance with these Terms and applicable law. Independently accessed third-party services remain subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Availability and responsibility
We will provide the Services with the care and skill required by applicable law. Beta status means we cannot promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or accurate AI results. These limitations do not exclude statutory guarantees or remedies.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. We remain responsible for losses to the extent required by applicable law.
11. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using the Services at any time. You can initiate deletion of your data through the available controls and contact us for account assistance.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a serious breach of these Terms, protect users or the Services, or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve the issue before ending access. Immediate action may be necessary for urgent risks or legal requirements. You may contact us to ask us to review a restriction.
Ending access does not remove rights or obligations that arose earlier. Provisions concerning ownership, liability, and disputes continue where relevant. Personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, legal requirements, or security needs. We will identify the updated effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes through the Services or appropriate contact channels. We will seek renewed agreement where required. You can stop using the Services if you do not accept a proposed change, without losing rights already accrued.
13. Disputes and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protections under applicable law.
You may contact support@myjdoe.com about a dispute, but doing so is not a condition of exercising your legal rights. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive collective remedies. You retain the right to bring proceedings in any court available under applicable law, including your local courts where consumer law provides that right.
14. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive it. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumers cannot waive or prevents you from contacting a regulator or seeking a statutory remedy.
